No-Bake Peaches and Cream Cake

Fine, the “Ala Riz” part is blpht. Not to hoard all the credit, I got this recipe from my brother, ergo, if anyone of you has come across this recipe from somewhere, then it’s my brother who got it from somewhere, okay? Okay.

Remember when I said I was looking at buying a bunch of cook books? Well, I actually bought some, hoping that I’d find myself productive in the kitchen during the holiday break. Sadly though, while the “buying” happened, the “cooking” didn’t. Haha. Unless you can call helping out and getting instructions from my Mom while in the kitchen “cooking”, that is. Boo.

I think I was successful though, making this no-bake preaches and cream cake (more popularly known as “refrigerator cake”, which is kind of weird if you would ask me because I think the term “refrigerator cake” is grammatically incorrect). See, the plan is to learn to cook backwards. Dessert first. Then main course. Then appetizer. (I’ll get to the real meal later, okay, boyfriend??). Okay, shutap nao.

What I like about this yummy dessert is, you don’t have to be an expert to do it. Here are the ingredients you will need. (Disclaimer: No one’s paying me to endorse these product brands.)

4 Nestle All Purpose Cream; 2 cans of Nestle Cream; 1 can of condensed milk (not in the picture); 1 pack of Grayham crackers; 1 pack of crushed Grayhams; 1 big can of Del Monte Sliced Peaches.

So.. ready? Make a no-bake peaches and cream cake in 5 easy steps. :)

First. Mix 2 cans of Nestle Cream; 4 tetrapacks of All Purpose Cream; and 1 medium-sized can of condensed milk in a bowl. Set aside.

Second. Drain the syrup from the sliced peaches, and slice the peaches to thinner slices. Uhm? (Boo. I didn’t know that writing culinary instructions would be this challenging! Haha.) You did get it, right? If not, just refer to the pictures. :P

Third. Spread the cream on a baking pan or a tupperware; layer the grayhams, the cream, and the peaches up. You can do it in this order: Cream - Grayham - Cream - Peaches - Cream, repeat till you have two layers of peaches.

Fourth. After 2 layers of peaches, cream, and grayhams, sprinkle the top with crushed grayhams.

Fifth. Refrigerate for 2 hours.

There you have it. It’s really easy, right? I mean, if a culinary idiot like me can do it, you can too, right? Right. Enjoy! :)

I enjoyed those comments in parenthesis. LOL! This post makes me crave for a “refrigerator cake”. What’s the right term ba? Is it refrigerator or refrigerated? Whatever! Just call it Graham Cake na lang. :P

Ah yes. Dessert first, main course later. Haha. I am getting sick of making my revel bars…and I still have to bake later. Sheesh. Next year I will focus on baking something else!

and I congratulate thee for a job well done! the dessert was just heavenly. Masaraaaaaaaaap sya people! I was there, I tasted it and I can prove that it was the kind of cake na “makakalimutan nyo pangalan nyo”. ;p Pwede ka na mag-asawa Riz! Kahit yan lang daily meal nyo ni boypren, oks na. :)

Ayos sa pag document, gurl! :) kakagutom yang ginawa mo, perfect for the new year’s. I love refrigerator cakes! hehe. How will people like us we get by without Graham crackers? That thing simply does wonders!

I will definitely try this over the weekend. I always want a recipe something like this in order to whip and easy and fast dessert for my kids.
