I’m Officially a Mac Convert

I know, I know. I recently enumerated five reasons why I’m not buying a MacBook. But that’s actually a prequel to a list of reasons why I’m buying one.

It’s difficult for me to adapt with change, and I’m usually scared to try out new things too — must be why I’ve had the same hairdo for years, and I’ve never owned a mobile phone that is NOT Nokia.

Well, it’s about time for me. ;)

I literally had my name on it.

Unboxing your very own MacBook is the sweetest thing.
(Er, okay, next to unboxing an Island Rose package, that is.)

Even the suspense is sweetness. Yay.

Teh Mac and Teh Chucks.

MINE, MINE, MINE. :)
Get that? Over my kung-fu tight grip, raawr!

This means I’m gona have to say buhbye to Ice (my Acer Travelmate) *sniff*, time really does fly. But LOL, I’m not about to get depressed and mushy over it, okay. Besides, I know she’ll be in good hands. :)

I’m not sure if it’s good that it came the week before SEMCON 2007. I’m still getting used to the Apple key, and the CTRL non-functions (whatev), and now I have to cram for my talk and try to get myself acquainted with Mac at the same time. Gah. Oh well. I guess now is not the time to question timelines. :)

P.S. She doesn’t have a name yet. Leme think about that for now.

    Astig, congrats! =)

But why now? Apple’s gonna come out with Leopard in a few weeks and there’s a pending update to the Santa Rosa platform for the MacBook. Anyway, it’s still as pretty as it is now. =)

    You got it locally?

It took me a while to switch from my Nokia phones too. That’s until one of them died on me, and I finally broke down and got a decent phone, the Samsung Blackjack.

I’ve always wanted a Mac because they look cool, but it’s hard for me to make changes too. I haven’t even branched out beyond the Gateway yet. Baby steps…

This post kinda makes me want to want one too. Haha okay I know I’m supposed to be a PC person but a girl can change her mind, right? Wahahaha.

This came with the software you need na ano? May extra cost ba yung software?

  24. jayvee f. said,

    October 6, 2007 @ 11:15 am

@tina: all mac come with ilife. the only other apps you may need is iWork for Keybote and Pages as well as Microsoft Office for the Macintosh.

  25. riz said,

    October 6, 2007 @ 11:22 am

I can refer you to the supplier I got it from. They supplied all the macbooks here in the office. This group, SENCO, install all the softwares you want (free of charge) initially. So I had them install Dreamweaver, Photoshop, MS Office, and Premiere na. Plus they installed extra softwares like Aperture (pang photography ;)) coz they thought I was a photographer. Haha. But yeah, Jayvee’s right. All MACs come with iLife (iTunes, Garageband, iMovie, etc.) Really KEWL. Game na. ;)

  26. riz said,

    October 6, 2007 @ 11:22 am

I already have the drivers. Theyre readily available online.

  27. Tina said,

Ooooh. Haha okay one more question. Pwede bang card payment sa supplier mo? :D Wahehe.

  28. Tina said,

    October 6, 2007 @ 12:54 pm

I see. Haha I’m just concerned about the other software I want. Like Photoshop and Office, and yes, even Windows XP. :D I’m not ready to let go of Windows just yet, since I use it at work. I’m getting iffy with pirated stuff kasi, I figured if I’m going to get software, better make it original na diba. :D

Halaaa. Looks like i’m witnessing another Mac convert whahaha :)
